The goal of the International Hurricane Center (IHRC) at Florida International University (FIU) is to:

Conduct multi-disciplinary research to safeguard people, property, and the built and natural environments from hurricanes, and to assist communities in assessing their vulnerability while dealing with the aftermath of tropical storms and hurricanes.
