On Friday, May 31, 2013 the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) marked the beginning of the 2013 Atlantic hurricane season with the announcement of a pilot program “Get Ready: Get Live Mobile TV.” The press conference was held at the Florida International University’s Engineering Center and included representatives from FDEM, FIU’s International Hurricane Research Center, the Wall of Wind, the National Association of Broadcasters, the Florida Association of Broadcasters, Dyle
Mobile TV, and Volunteer Florida. The pilot program will provide the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) with devices for mobile TV, providing valuable local information during disasters. (PDF)
