Anthony Pratt is the Program Manager of the Shoreline Management Branch of the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control. He oversees programs related to beach construction regulation, technical engineering services, dune building and maintenance, and coastal hazards mitigation. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Marine Policy Program of the Graduate College of Marine Studies, University of Delaware. Tony's public service career with the state includes being the first full time Administrator of Delaware's Coastal Management Program. He has served as Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee on Beach Management/Sea Level Rise for Delaware's Environmental Legacy and as lead staff for Beaches 2000 Planning Group. He was a member of the National Governor's Association Committee on Global Change, the National Research Council Committee on Beach Nourishment and Protection, and the Delaware Beach Replenishment Task Force. He also served on the National Research Council Committee on Coastal Engineering Research and Education Needs, and the H. John Heinz III Center Panel on Risk Vulnerability and the True Costs of Coastal Hazards. Tony serves as a Director of the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association, Director of the American Coastal Coalition and is a member of the Coastal States Organization Coastal Hazards Committee. He was the Deputy Mayor of the coastal community of Lewes, Delaware from 1992 to 1998. Mr. Pratt holds a Bachelor's Degree (1975) in Natural Science from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts.
