Education Learning Modules:
These learning modules developed for 6th grade and high school include hurricane STEM science, mitigation, preparedness, engineering and emergency management information. There is also a module activity for all students focused on emergency management. This community education outreach project is graciously supported in large part through a grant from the Florida Division of Emergency Management.

Eye of the Storm Hurricane Education 12-Part Video Series:

The virtual Eye of the Storm is a 12-episode video series that teaches hurricane science, mitigation and preparedness. Each episode contains an interactive science demonstration and experts that discuss their educational backgrounds and interesting STEM careers. Topics include hurricane supply kits, power and generator safety, insurance check-ups, pet and boat preparedness, shuttering windows, roofing, debris cleanup, evacuations, storm surge, hurricane forecasting, TV weathercasting, NOAA Hurricane Hunters, and wind engineering research by the NSF-NHERI Wall of Wind at FIU.

This community education project is a partnership between the International Hurricane Research Center, Broward County Emergency Management, the City of Fort Lauderdale Emergency Management and the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) in Fort Lauderdale. The video series was sponsored by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM).
